DEAR EDITOR,
There are some things happening in our country that I am very much displeased with. The recent GUYSUCO issues that were brought to the attention of the public through the media is of vital importance and should not be treated as a trampoline or bouncing board for members of various political parties to reach new heights.
As a Guyanese, it is sickening to see how politicians use certain information and the media to debase others.
Our country is aiming for new heights and everyone likes the new shape of Guyana.
Even Guyanese overseas now want to return home, but when politicians misinform the public and our overseas readers, it’s only causing more frustration and send the wrong message to our people and Diaspora.
It is not a time to politicize and campaign; it’s far from elections. I wonder why certain groups are just fishing around the place at this point in time. The politicians are over emphasising the current state of the Skeldon operations.
This is a Chinese problem as far as I can see and should be left upon the Chinese to fix.
Only at such time should the Government take the factory over from the Chinese engineering firm.
We in Guyana are witnessing what will be the revolutionizing of the sugar industry and should consider ourselves fortunate for this advent.
When we build a “latrine” in our yards we find minor problems in getting it up on time or something might not have gone the way we wanted it, but at the end of the day it was built with an intention and a need.
