The Medex and nurses of the Wakenaam Cottage Hospital yesterday led a march involving school children and other members of the community from the Good Success Ferry Stelling to the Hospital Compound at Belle Plaine.
The aim was to focus attention on National Breastfeeding Week which is currently being observed (September 14-20). The march was one of the exercises which the hospital planned. Following the march several persons addressed the gathering.
Among those attending the exercise were the Chairman of the Wakenaam NDC, Mr. Zakir Khan, Ms. Bhagmania of the Region # 3 Breastfeeding Committee and other representatives from the West Demerara Hospital. Wakenaam Hospital will culminate its activities tomorrow with a video show.
