BK Int. Western Tigers maul Northern Rangers 6-1

Northern Rangers suffered the similar fate as their counterparts from Beacon when BK International Western Tigers mauled them 6-1, when rivalry in the Banks Beer division one football on Tuesday afternoon at the Camptown ground, Campbellville.
Beacons lost by a similar margin with the main destroyer Devon Millington again blasting the nets four times.
Tigers continue to keep their promise of attacking and destroying all and sundry and Tuesday afternoon was no different.
As local pundits would say, they have always been responsible for their own downfall and perhaps relegation to the division-one ranks from the premier level will see a turn around in fortunes for them.
Millington was on target in the 10th, 16th, 38th and 65th minutes with teammates Paul Giles (67th) and Orin Pompey (78th) adding their name to the list.
The win for the Tigers, who continue to roar, kept their clean bill of health intact with the maximum 12 points from four matches scoring a total of 16 goals with 2 against.
Two of their wins were via the walk over route which see teams being rewarded with 3 points and 2 goals. Netting Northern Rangers’ consolation goal was Gregory Gomes.
They remain at the bottom of the standings having suffered their fourth loss in as many matches, conceding 13 goals to date while scoring a mere 2.
The University of Guyana failed to show up for their third match of the season losing one and drawing the other. UG’s no show handed Black Pearl three points which moves them to six.
Play was set to continue last evening at the Thirst Park ground when Huston Stars faced Thomas United and Beacon against Flamingo. (Franklin Wilson)
