Royal Castle opens Hinck Street outlet
The new Royal Castle outlet
Fast food lovers now have another option available to them in the heart of Georgetown with the opening of another branch of Royal Castle.
This new outlet is located on Hinck Street in the vicinity of the East Coast Demerara car park.
Declaring the entity officially open was Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Manniram Prashad.
The Minister opined that the new outlet would transform the entire area.
Minister Prashad recounted that Royal Castle began its operations here in 1999 but had a setback in 2003 when fire struck their first outlet, which was located at Lombard and Hadfield Streets.
He noted that Royal Castle came to Guyana at a time when there was no fast food service in Guyana and they were quite successful.
Despite the fire, the Minister added, the investors persevered and opened an outlet in Sheriff Street and subsequently saw the need to open another facility in the City Mall, both of which have been successful.
This newspaper understands that this third outlet of Royal Caste is a more than $50M investment and provides employment for over 25 persons. All the ingredients in Royal Castle Chicken are local.
Minister Prashad said that the fact that Royal Castle continues to open branches is encouraging to him, because it suggests that investors have confidence in the economy.
He also revealed that Royal Castle reportedly has intentions of opening branches in Berbice, Essequibo and Linden.
Director of Royal Castle, Eddie Boyer, said that expansion is definitely on the cards.
Boyer also noted that despite the setback with the fire, he continued investment because he has confidence in the operation.
He also noted that for this week there will be a special on two-piece meals.
