Minister of Housing and Water, Harrinarine Nawbatt, has been appointed Guyana’s Ambassador to Brazil.
Yesterday, President Bharrat Jagdeo confirmed earlier reports that the Minister was likely to take up the post.
The Head of State pointed out that while Nawbatt’s current position will be vacant, this would only be for a short while as he will reveal the Minister’s replacement shortly.
Head of the Presidential Secretariat, Dr. Roger Luncheon at his most recent press conference stated that the Minister was being considered for the assignment in Brazil.
Luncheon added that there are some diplomatic formalities that have to be carried out before confirmation of the post.
Yesterday, President Jagdeo, when asked about a possible reshuffle of his Cabinet members, said that the body can be rearranged at anytime.
