DEAR EDITOR,
I read with interest Friday’s (Kaieteur News, 06-09-08) Peeping Tom and I agree that those who harboured wanted men Rondell ‘Fine Man’ Rawlins and Jermaine ‘Skinny’ Charles should be jailed.
These people are just as guilty as the two notorious killers and the security forces should spare no effort to bring them to justice. As a matter of fact, anyone, who harbours criminals, should be jailed.
But I believe that Peeping Tom missed something big.
If those who harboured ‘Skinny’ and ‘Fine Man’ should be jailed, then the whole country might be guilty of harbouring criminals.
I say this in reference to the white collar criminals who continue to fleece this country of billions of dollars.
Don’t tell me that they are not criminals. In fact, they may be more criminals than most of the little punks that are running around robbing people. Many of these white collar criminals go scotch free because it seems that the security forces are only focusing on the petty crimes.
Many of these white collar criminals could be seen living it up at some of the most expensive ‘watering holes’ in the country in the company of very senior officials. These same officials could be considered as providing safe haven for the white collar criminals and their activities.
Surely they too should be investigated.
Peeping Tom is calling on the law abiding citizens of Buxton to speak out.
I would also like to call on those senior officials to speak out against those who rob this country blind and then have the gaul to extol sacred virtues. What goes for one goes for all.
