Both Scheme and 110 came away with victories on opening night in the Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sport Plaisance Inter-Block Football Tournament which was played last Saturday, at the Village’s Community Centre ground.
The tournament, the eight such organised by the Ministry countrywide, saw Scheme defeat 40 Block through a solitary strike from Travis Luke in the 15 minute, while 110 were 4-1 winners against a determined, but slightly outclass Industry unit that kept them scoreless in the first period.
Jason Johnson opened the scoring in the 33rd minute of play which was increased five minutes later through Nakhu Durant, while John Heyliger’s double in the 46 and 55 minutes sealed the deal.
Kevin Lewis converted the lone response for Industry. Among those who were part of the proceedings, included Minister Dr. Frank Anthony, Permanent Secretary Keith Booker and Parliamentary Secretary within the Ministry Steve Ninvalle.
Meanwhile, another double-header is planned for this Saturday, at the same venue.
