Carl Anthony James, 22, of 40 East Ruimveldt, was yesterday remanded to prison for allegedly having in his possession an unlicensed .45 pistol and ammunition.
James was represented by attorney-at-law Vic Puran, who claimed that both he and George are totally unaware of this charge.
Puran said that his client attended court to answer another charge and this charge came as a surprise to him and his client.
The Prosecution, which was headed by Desiree Fowler, said that the man was nabbed on Wednesday last.
She said that, acting on information, ranks at the City Constabulary went to the Bourda Market area and arrested James.
The prosecution objected to bail on the ground that the charge is considered a serious matter.
James was remanded to prison and the matter is to reconvene on December 5.
