Destroyers XI demolished Dare Devil by a massive 176 runs on Sunday when the Georgetown Zone of the Memorex Enterprise 15 Overs Country–Wide Softball Tournament continued at Eve Leary Ground.
Destroyers won the toss and batted first, amassing 235–5 in 15 overs with Christopher Mohamed top scoring with 69 (4×6, 2×4). Wayne Narine supported with 36 (3×6, 2×4) in the innings.
Ryan Persaud’s 3–43 from 3 overs was the best bowling figures for Dare Devils. In their turn at the crease, they only mustered 59 all out in 8.2 overs with Sundar Seenauth scoring 19 (2×6) out of the amount.
Shameer Latiff took 3–6 from 3 overs for Destroyers.
In other results, Silver Belt XI also inflicted a beating on Dare Devils XI, this time by 46 runs: Dare Devils won the toss and inserted Silver Belt XI who proceeded to score 143–6 from 15 overs.
Silver Belt XI’s Dhanraj Ramsamooj made 47 (5×6) and Balram Singh 27 (3×6) while Anil Singh took 2–34 from 3 overs.
Dare Devils XI replied with 97 all out in 14.1 overs with Anil Singh contributing 28 (3×6) and Imran Khan taking 2–14 from 3 overs.
Tradesmen XI defeated Silver Belt XI in their second match by 41 runs: Tradesmen batted first and scored 126–6 from 15 overs with Nigel Ramdial 42 (3×6) and Dhanraj Ramsamooj taking 2–14 from 3 overs.
In reply, Silver Belt could only muster 85 all out in 13.2 overs with Balram Singh making 30 (2×6) and Surujpaul Deosarran taking 5–8 from 3 overs. Ruimzeight XI made light work of Windsor Forest XI by 8 wickets in the West Coast Zone of the tournament at Den Amstel ground.
Windsor Forest XI won the toss and batted, scoring 66 all out in 13 overs with Julius Williams scoring 19 (2×6) and Anand Bharat taking 3–14 from 3 overs.
In reply, Ruimzeight XI knocked off the required runs in 6.3 overs scoring 69–2 with Zaheer Abbass contributing 23 (2×6) and Mahendra Chaitram 18 (1×6). Julius Williams took 1–18 from 3 overs.
Leonora Youths defeated Cornelia Ida Invaders by 56 runs: Leonora Youths batted first scoring 167–6 from 15 overs with Ravendra Ramnarine hitting 55 (6×6) and Rajin Rahaman 29 (3×6). Vikash Dhaniram took 2-10 from 3 overs.
In reply, Cornelia Ida Invaders made 111 all out in 14.2 overs with Akram Willey scoring 24 (3×6) and Verindra Kowlessar 3–15 from 3 overs. Shairaj Samad took 3–21 from his 3 overs.
Untouchables XI defeated Wild Fire XI by 9 wickets in the Berbice Zone of the competition at Crabwood Creek ground.
Wild Fire XI batted first scoring 71 all out in 12.4 overs. Troy Kippins took 3–11 from 3 overs while Ganesh Balgobin took 3–21 from 3 overs. In reply, made 72–1 from 7 overs with Balram Samaroo making 21 not out.
Untouchables XI inflicted a beating on Unstoppable XI by a massive 98 runs after winning the toss and moving on to score 168–7 in 15 overs with Balram Samaroo making 31 (3×6) and Roy Jafferally 28 (3×6).
When Unstoppable batted, they found the going tough and were all out for 70 in 8 overs with Papo Persaud contributing 27 (3×6) and Troy Kippins 4–19 from 3 overs while Ganesh Balgobin took 2–17 from 3 overs.
