Three Chinese nationals are currently nursing severe lacerations about the body after an accident at an Eccles Industrial Site glass factory last evening.
Up to press time reports were sketchy but this newspaper had learnt that employees at the factory, including the owner, were offloading sheet glass from a container when some of it apparently fell on four of the workers, but one escaped with only a small cut to the hand.
The remainder, who were identified as Song Nei Wei, Shen Lei He and Shi Fei, did not share the same fate as they suffered severe lacerations about the body.
They were rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation last evening by neighbours who were alerted to the tragedy by one of the frantic employees, who was not injured in the mishap.
According to one neighbour, “all I hear is somebody banging frantically on the gate and is one of the Chinese….he calling me and when I go all I see is nuff blood…right away I get my vehicle and rush the injured men down to the hospital.”
One person who was at the hospital at the time when the injured men were rushed in could be overheard exclaiming, “Oh God if you see blood and cut.”
One of the Chinese nationals who was spared the tragic fate but was at the hospital was observed soaked in blood, indicative of the extent of the injuries that the trio must have suffered.
