Cuba’s Ambassador to Guyana Franscisco Marchante Castellanos yesterday paid a courtesy call on President Bharrat Jagdeo at the Office of the President, Vlissengen Road.
The courtesy call was to bid farewell to the Head of State at the end of his tenure in Guyana.
After meeting with President Jagdeo, Ambassador Castellanos in an invited comment said that his term in Guyana was fruitful and among the memorable events were the visit of Guyana’s President to Cuba and the signing of several agreements.
The Ambassador said that during his period of service he contributed to the fostering of greater collaboration between the two countries, the evidence of which, he said, was the completion of the four new diagnostic centres and the presence in Guyana of more doctors than at any other time.
Ambassador Castellanos was accredited as Cuba’s Ambassador to Guyana in September 2006.
