Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) won twice, while Transport Sports Club (TSC) and GYO also registered wins as the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Beharry Cup second division 40-overs cricket competition continued over the weekend.
On Saturday, TSC defeated GCC by 84 runs at the Everest Cricket Club ground, while MSC registered back-to-back wins against Third Class at GYO on Saturday and Ace Warriors at Everest on Sunday and GYO beat Everest on Sunday.
At Everest, Travis Blyden hit three fours in 36 while Mars Hinckson scored 43 and Terrence Pool contributed 30 as TSC made 181-8 from their 40 overs.
Raphael Doodachand had 5-16 for GCC who were dismissed for 97 as Ray Ramkissoon offered token resistance with 21. Blyden returned to take 4-14 with his leg spin and got support from former national under-19 player Kellon Carmichael (2-32).
At GYO, MSC whipped Third Class by five wickets with former national under-19 fast bowler Quasen Nedd taking 3-6 for the winners.
Third Class fell for 110 in 26.1 overs with Permanand Persaud making 31 with three fours and two sixes. Khan hit two sixes and one four in 23 while Azeem Azeez made 20 with three fours and a six.
Off-spinner Shaquille Williams supported Nedd with 2-10 for MSC who reached 111-5 from 22.3 overs with 15-year-old wicketkeeper batsman Safraz Esau making 30 and Vishal Narayan 27. Persaud took 2-20 in a losing effort.
On Sunday, MSC defeated Ace Warriors by 64 runs who played with just 10 players.
Delvon Mc Ewan (45) and the talented Narayan (50) added 95 runs for the first wicket for MSC before left arm spinner Afzal Gafoor took 4-26.
Esau who made an unbeaten 59 from 56 balls decorated with four fours, and Simeon Sam (17) then added 56 for the fifth wicket as their team reached 191-4 from their 40 overs.
Gafoor top scored with 30 as Ace Warriors fell for 127 in 34.4 overs with Mc Ewan (3-9) and Williams (2-12) doing the damage with the ball for the Thomas Lands side.
And a young GYO line-up beat Everest by one wicket at GYO on Sunday.
