18-year-old facing charges of sexually molesting girl, 11

Police are preparing charges for an 18-year-old man who betrayed the trust of his female friend and had sex with her 11-year-old daughter.

The man was arrested yesterday after a medical examination confirmed that the 11-year-old was sexually molested.

However, the examination ruled out that the child was pregnant as was suspected by the mother.

Kaieteur News understands that the 18-year-old man who hails from Good Hope, East Coast Demerara, had a dispute with his relatives and was put out of his home. Fortunately, he was granted refuge at a female friend’s house at Lusignan.

A source close to the investigation told Kaieteur News that the 18-year-old set eyes on the woman’s daughter and even told her that he was in love with the child.

However, the woman warned him that he should not interfere with her daughter and he should wait until she had finished her schooling to even contemplate a relationship.

But her warning fell on deaf ears and unknowing to the woman, the 18-year-old proceeded to have sex with the child.

Eventually the secret was let out and the woman reported the matter to the police who immediately arrested the young man.
