DEAR EDITOR,
I have been reading of the glitter and extraordinary excitement due to the presentations at CARIFESTA.
What is likely to occur when this festival is over?
Are things going back to the mundane and dull? Would there be a dirty city, with streets of garbage rivalling the dumps?
Could the possibility of unruly and nightmarish traffic resurface? Aren’t citizens entitled to the same quality of service at all times as afforded the festival?
Why can’t there be more integrated cultural events happening at shorter intervals, say, quarterly, at the district level, semi-annually at regional level and annually at a national level?
This would not only give the creative geniuses a chance to grow and further challenge themselves to higher esteem, but also help to understand better the diversity of the nations.
