It was all glitz and glamour last Saturday at Duke’s Lodge on Duke Street, Kingston, when the Carifesta Fashion Focus team presented its distinguished lineup of models selected for the Carifesta Fashion Focus shows to be held at varying venues during the Carifesta X celebrations.
Guests were treated to free cocktails and a wide variety of beverages, as succulent finger foods flowed in abundance.
While the atmosphere was elegantly casual, the real excitement was centred on the entrance of sixty extremely eye-catching male and female models, all immaculately dressed in black apparel of every imaginable design.
Executing well taught modelling routines, the models thrilled the gathering as they pivoted, sashayed, and practically blazed a trail on the runway, sending sensual tremors rippling through the excited audience.
The sixty models, selected from auditions that attracted over two hundred, will display the clothing of over twenty-five designers (local and foreign) as the Fashion Focus teams unleash a ‘Fashion Fantasia,’ to be long remembered after Carifesta.
On Friday, these models were among the highpoints presented at the opening ceremony of Carifesta X at the National Stadium, Providence.
Decked in colours of the National Flag, they brought added lustre to the ceremony as they pranced, danced and waved for all Guyanese and visitors alike.
Today, at 17:00 hrs at the Sophia Exhibition Site, these models will take to the stage as they showcase both local and foreign fashion.
