A helmet-trick by Renaissance striker Selwyn Williams has propelled his team into the lead in group B when rivalry in the Chubby under-14 league, organised by the Georgetown Football Association and sponsored by Guyana Beverage Inc., continued at the Tucville ground yesterday.
Williams’ tally in the tournament now stands at 5 and he has scored 5 of his team’s 6 goals in their 3 matches to date, 2 wins and a draw.
They latest was a 5-2 demolition of First Assembly of God in the final match of the yesterday’s action. He blasted the nets in the 18th, 43rd, 49th and 59th minute as Renaissance continued their quest for top honours in fine style. The other goal was tucked in by Jamal Holland in the 56th minute.

The Fruta side had taken the lead in the 20th minute when Pee Wee under-11 tournament MVP Ryan Hackett rocked the nets. Santos, were able to draw level compliments of their captain, Amuneke Rogers’ 27th minute strike.
And just when it seemed that the game was going to end in a draw, Hackett was brought down in the area and his captain Pernell Schultz made no mistake in placing the ball past goalkeeper Omar Jones (to his left) from the spot one minute before full time.
Sunburst Camptown drew level with Flamingo through a Moses Adams goal in the 20th after Flamingo had taken the lead off a Alpha Mc Phoy shot in the 11th.
