Sans Souci and Sans Souci Jaguars recorded victories as the GT&T Cellink, Cell zone 20/20 cricket competition resumed last Saturday at Good Success in Wakenaam.
In the first match, Sans Souci defeated host Good Success by 8 runs. Sans Souci batted first and made 144 for 9 off their allotted, 20 overs. Essequibo wicketkeeper, batsman Wayne Osborne, and all-rounder Nokta Moses made 40 each while Keval Chulai, Youganand Balgobin and Abdool Salim took 2 wickets apiece for Good Success who in reply were bowled out for 136 in 19.4 overs.
Salim returned with the bat to top score with 26, while Wazeer Mohamed contributed 18. Off spinner Vickram Ramnarine bagged 6 for 25 and Gurnauth Khemraj took 2 – 20.
In the day’s second match Sans Souci Jaguars over came Zeelandia by 9 wickets. Zeelandia took first strike and were bundled out for a paltry 84 in 19.4 overs.
Medium pacer Zaheer Mohamed captured 3-9 while Left arm spinner Ricardo Adams took 2 – 24 and Dillon Osborne 2 – 20.
In reply Sans Souci Jaguars hit off the required runs in 14 overs losing one wicket in the process. Safraz Mohamed top scored with 22 while Adams contributed 20 and Satnarine Sahadeo 18.
