Police are investigating the murder of a 29-year-old man who is suspected to be a vagrant at the corner of America and Longden Streets, early yesterday morning.
Reports reaching this newspaper stated that Kamoa Adamale, of Lot Three, East La Penitence, was found lying in a pool of blood with marks of violence to his head.
Police say that Adamale was lying on a stall at America and Longden Streets when a man walked up to him and struck him with a piece of wood.
A source close to the scene reported hearing three sounds that suggested that someone was being lashed with a piece of wood.
When the source looked in the direction where the sounds came from, Adamale was seen lying motionless on the ground.
The police were summoned and an examination of Adamale’s body revealed a large wound at the back of his head and a swollen jaw.
Blood was also oozing from his ears, nose and mouth.
He was picked up and taken to the Georgetown Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
No one has so far been arrested but investigations are continuing.
