Prolific Barbados and West Indies under-15 opener Kraig Braithwaite suffered a rare failure as his Barbados school Combermere lost by three wickets to host DCC yesterday in a feature 40-overs under-19 cricket match.
Braithwaite, a solid right-handed opener who scored his 32nd century of his short career when he made 112 against Guyana in the just concluded TCL West Indies under-19 three-day cricket series in Barbados, made a patient 21 before he was bowled by off-spinner Toralvo Scipio as the touring team fell for 100 from 30 overs on a slow track.
National under-19 opening batsman Trevon Griffith (3-12) and leg-spinner Kester Harcourt (2-11) exposed the Bajans discomfort to spin bowling.
Wicketkeeper Denver Greaves then hit and unbeaten 23 and got support from Troy Nurse who made 17 as DCC reached 101-7.
