Annette Arjoon of North West Organics has been tasked by the Ministry of Amerindian Affairs with the responsibility of decorating the main building in the Amerindian Village which will host the majority of the cultural events during Carifesta as well as the sale of indigenous food and drinks.
Continuing in the vein of Government, Non Governmental Organisations and Private Sector partnership, a number of companies were approached to sponsor banners for the décor.
The banners will depict the flora, fauna and landscape of Guyana in distant areas for the benefit of those participants who may not be able to witness them firsthand.
However, it is also intended to encourage persons to plan future visits to the indigenous communities in whose backyards such wonders are found.
Scotiabank was the first company to come onboard and has been sponsoring the majority of the displays.
According to Arjoon, this is not the first time such support has been readily demonstrated. Additionally, there is a surprise element to this partnership which would be made public on the last day of Carifesta X.
