The Guyana Police Force (GPF) led by MVP/Assistant Superintendent Dale Alves chalked up 75 games to cart off the Ministry of Home Affairs / Howard Construction Company sponsored Inter Agency Dominoes Competition.
GPF won ahead of the host, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) who tallied 71 and the Guyana Prison Service who were left in the bottom cell on 52 games.
GPF’s Alves was well supported in his team’s victory charge by Lloyd Meusa with 14 games with 13 each from Martin Pestano Bell and Michael Smith.
The top markers for MHA were Orin Norville (15) and Andre Niles 13. The only player in double figures for Prisons was Neil Elliot with 14.
Strolling down lovers lane were GPF’s Earl Keizer and Prison’s Daniel Grandison. At the presentation ceremony Minister of Home Affairs Clemet Rohee congratulated the organisers for a well planned and executed competition.
“Tournaments such as this are very welcome since it brings together workers in a lighter atmosphere where they can socialise and be relaxed. It also helps to bond people together and help them to know and understand each other better.”
Also present was sponsor Andre Howard of Howard Construction company who said his company was more than happy to be associated with the tournament and they would continue to support the development of sport amongst the work force which is very healthy.
