The Neal and Massy Group of Companies, on Wednesday, commissioned a spanking new multi-million-dollar modern facility at Land of Plenty on the Essequibo Coast.
The facility, which costs over US$1M, was commissioned by Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Manniram Prashad, who told the large gathering that it will enhance employment on the Essequibo Coast.
“This modern facility will also enhance the corporate business environment and the private sector vibrancy. I am pleased to know Neal and Massy is investing “big time” in Essequibo. They will bring back life in Essequibo because of the potential of the company,” the minister said.
Chief Executive Officer of the company, Deo Persaud, who chaired the ceremony, said the commissioning of the facility is part of the entity’s anniversary celebration, and the company is committed to working with all Essequibians for their benefit and success, with a wide range of products to offer.
Director of Neal and Massy, Roy Persaud, outlining the nature of the facility, said that it will generate more income for residents in the area.
Regional Chairman Alli Baksh, in his presentation, lauded the relationship between the Government and the private sector. He also congratulated the company for coming to Essequibo to enhance the agricultural sector.
The facility was constructed by Sattaur Mohamed, and includes an office and two large warehouses. The building occupies 1600 square feet.
The Neal and Massy Group of Companies comprises several others, including Geddes Grant, AINLIM and DOCOL, and provides a wide range of services, including financial, customs brokerage, shipping, cambio, automotive, agriculture, heavy duty machinery, and information technology.
The ceremony was attended by scores of farmers and well wishers, and included several cultural presentations from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport.
