Led by the Most Valuable Player of the final, Charlyn Barnwell who tallied 32 games playing through, the Guyana Fire Service (GFS) rattled up 90 games to win the Fazia’s Collection sponsored Female Inter Services Dominoes competition.
Playing at the Ministry of Home Affairs Sports Club, Brickdam on Thursday last, the GFS despite playing with 5-members turned back the challenge of the Guyana Police Force (GPF), way behind with 77 to take the runner-up position, while ending in the cellar spot was the Guyana Prison Service with 68 games.
Barnwell received valuable support from Shellon Philadelphia and Onica Patterson who marked 16 games each, Tricia Leander 15 and Allison Patterson 11.
The top markers for the GPF were Andre Lewis 15, Alana Campbell 14, with 13 each for Samantha Griffith, Roxanne Sandy and Desire Mayers-Phillips.
For the Prison Service, Michelle Lewis and Beverly Critchlow were the joint top scorers with 15 games apiece. Denise Liverpool contributed 13 while Bridgette Parks and June Lewis marked 10 each.
Gwenette George of Prisons was the only player taking a stroll down lover’s lane.
