DEAR EDITOR,
Patriarchal figures in Guyana’s history – such as Toolsie Persaud, Edward B. Beharry, John Fernandes Sr., and several others – have blazed trails in true pioneering spirit and created entrepreneurial dynasties that have withstood many travails, endured much, provided employment to many, contributed enormously to the national exchequer and consequently national development, oftentimes at great personal sacrifice.
For all those who have witnessed the enormity and appreciate the magnitude of contribution these men have made to Guyana and the Guyanese people, it is sad to see these giants totter.
However, the spirit of perseverance and endurance that they have always displayed, even during calamitous instances, will ensure that the Toolsie Persaud Ltd conglomerate prevail over its current run of unfortunate episodes.
Parvati Persaud-Edwards
