Yesterday, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, the magistrate ruled that a 15-year-old would have to remain in police custody until September 5, 2008. It is alleged that the teen ran away from her mother’s home about a week ago.
The teen, who is a third form student at North Ruimveldt Multilateral School, was sent to the East La Penitence Police Station lockups.
The teen’s mother said that she found the teen last Monday in the company of an older male at the car park.
The male has since disappeared. The girl will have to return to court on September 5, 2008.
