After spending 11 days in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Georgetown Public Hospital, Mahindra Mohanlall succumbed Wednesday morning to injuries he sustained when he fell from his landing while in a drunken stupor.
Mohanlall, of Enterprise, East Coast Demerara, had sustained spinal and other injuries. Initially foul play was not ruled out but Mohanlall regained consciousness and gave a statement from his hospital bed clarifying for the police that he indeed fell while under the influence of alcohol. A post mortem examination will take place today.
