Guyana will face Grenada in the first group B fixture tomorrow when the 2008 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) under-17 Youth Cup kicks off in Trinidad and Tobago.
The group B teams are based in Tobago with the other being Barbados.
Barbados and Grenada will clash on August 2nd with the final group match between Guyana and Barbados set for two days later. All matches will start at 16:00hrs.
The 2008 CFU Youth Cup, which has attracted 21 teams will be contested from July 31 – August 10 and will double as the Caribbean Qualification to the 2009 CONCACAF Under-17 Championship.
The teams have been placed into 6 groups and matches will be played at 5 venues in Trinidad & Tobago during the first round: Fatima College Ground; Guaracara Park; St. Mary’s College Ground; Tobago; University of the West Indies Field.
The 6 group winners along with two best second-place finishers will progress to the quarter-finals on August 6.
The semi-finals and finals will take place at the Marvin Lee Stadium in Macoya on August 8 & 10, respectively.
The winner and runner-up from the CFU Youth Cup will progress to the CONCACAF U-17 Championship that will take place in Mexico next year.
