A popular city businessman has been forced to lodge his licensed firearm at the Kitty Police Station after he discharged several rounds at another man.
Reports are that the incident occurred some time after midnight on Friday at a popular nightspot.
This newspaper was told that the businessman was seen involved in a heated argument with another man at the nightspot earlier in the night.
Shortly after, persons say, gunshots started to ring out and a man was seen running away from the premises. According to reports, the man succeeded in escaping unscathed.
During the incident, the back windscreen of a car that was parked nearby was damaged. The matter was reported, and the businessman was asked by investigators to lodge his weapon.
The damaged vehicle has also since been lodged at the Kitty Police Station, as police continue investigations.
Only recently, the same businessman was at the centre of an incident during which a man claimed that he was severely beaten by the businessman. Both the man’s legs were broken, as well as his left arm.
