Scotiabank’s recent ‘Bound for Beijing’ promotion concluded with the grand drawing of an all expense paid trip to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing China.
And the winner was none other than Leader of the Alliance for Change, Raphael Trotman.
Customers were automatically entered into the promotion every time they used their Scotiabank credit cards to do transactions of $10,000 and more.
The promotion lasted from April 1 to May 31, 2008 and attracted customers from various Scotiabank companies regionally. There was one winner from four different countries selected to be the grand prize winners along with 20 consolation prize winners.
The entire package is worth US$40,000 and it includes return airfare between Guyana and Beijing, six nights stay in Beijing, category A tickets to five Olympic events, guided sightseeing tours around Beijing and a whole lot more along with a consolation gift package of assorted merchandise.
Trotman explained that he was very astonished when he received the confirmation letter from Scotiabank declaring him the winner. He added that he had never won any competitions in his entire life until now so he could now declare himself lucky.
Trotman stated that he is certainly excited about the trip in which he will be traveling his wife to witness the event along with Guyana’s participation in it.
Trotman explained that apart from attending the events and waving the Golden Arrowhead, he will take advantage of the opportunity to get acquainted with his deep Chinese roots since his ancestors were from China.
He also expressed his gratitude for the trip to the representatives of the company: Amanda St. Aubyn, Country Manager, and Mr. Abu Zaman, the Manager of Sales and Support, who presented the prizes to the respective winners.
The 20 consolation prize winners were on hand to receive their winnings for their participation in the promotion.
