Guyana’s leading Sports Club, the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTY&SC) has been plunged into deep mourning following the sudden death of their Assistant Secretary/CEO Farouk Kudrath, Thursday last.
The 39 year-old Kudrath at the time of his passing held responsibility for Education, Public Relations, Community and Social Development and served in this capacity for the past 10 years. He was well respected and admired for his dedication and hard work to the organisation and all those who he encountered during his life.
Secretary/CEO of the club Hilbert Foster stated that the entire management, members and staff is in deep shock at Kudrath’s sudden demise. He noted that he was a dear friend and colleague who worked beyond the call for duty to make sure that the RHTY&SC fulfilled its mandate of serving youths and the less fortunate.
As Assistant Secretary/CEO Kudrath had direct responsibility for the Club’s Annual $5 Million Anti-Drugs and Pro-Education Campaign, Annual $2 Million Awards Ceremony, Annual Cricket Academy and Sports Development Programmes, Relationship with Sponsors, Tribute to Heroes Programme and Charity Programme.
Foster described Kudrath as one of the Foundation members of the Club and that it would be very difficult to replace him as his work ethics was of a very high standard.
“He played a major role in the off the field personal development of almost all of the national cricketers that the RHTY&SC has produced over the years.”
The RHTY&SC in tribute to the late Assistant Secretary would be opening a book of condolence and held a memorial service yesterday.
The club’s Management has also decided that several of its activities would be renamed after the late Kudrath.
The management and members of the RHTY&SC expresses its profound sympathy to the family and relatives of the late Farouk Kudrath.
