Over the last couple of days, a mysterious white yacht has been seen anchored in the Demerara River. The name of this ocean going vessel has been painted over in white paint.
Investigations have uncovered that the boat was travelling from Panama to Manaus, Brazil when it ran into some mechanical problems.
This newspaper understands that the engine of the boat began to overheat, forcing it to dock in the Demerara River, where repairs are presently being conducted.
The yacht, carrying ten Brazilian passengers, was apparently recently purchased in Panama by a Brazilian national, and was sailing to its new native port. It is not clear when the yacht will depart Guyana’s waters.
