Come August 17, the Splashmin’s Fun Park and Resort will be engulfed as Hits and Jams Entertainment unleashes their 2K8 Jamzone Fever.
Ten dazzling Jamzone hopefuls will take to the stage as they put their intelligence, versatility and ‘pageant know how’ to the test in hopes of taking home the covet crown, title and jackpot prize of a brand new motor car.
In a brief interview recently, Hits and Jams’ Kerwyn Bollers told Entertainer that, from a line-up of over 60 applicants, the entity selected 15, which was later narrowed down to a striking ‘ten-member team’.
Photo shoots will follow for the next four weeks, and the delegates will face several ‘reality challenges’ which will come in different forms.
On Sunday the first ‘reality round’ will kick off to determine who is the most photogenic of the lasses.
The public can vote for their favourite entrant by texting a special number, which will be disclosed later.
In the second round, the delegates will be judged on their modelling capabilities, while the third round will determine their humanitarian capabilities.
Delegates will be divided among three children’s homes and left to spend a few hours with the inmates. During this time they will develop strategies to make life more comfortable for the children.
The delegates will be given a cash sum and asked to make purchases to enhance the welfare of the children.
One person from the less impressive group will be eliminated, depending on the votes of the delegates themselves.
The fourth round will judge the public speaking abilities of the contestants.
The official launch is being planned, according to Bollers.
Those competing for the Jamzone crown and title this year are Jenesta David, Francine Chase, Alana Thorne, Amanda Anthony, Ebanese King, Latoya Maraj, Lavonia Springer, Lisa Browne, Milcah Lynch and Vanessa Williams.
