Yesterday the Guyana Relief Council continued to offer assistance to some disaster victims when it presented donations to eight families whose homes were destroyed by fire.
The recipients were Lalkaori Mansaram and family of six, of 3 Vreed-en-Hoop Public Road; Samantha Thom; Clyde Walters and his family of six; Carl McWilfred and family; Ovid Phillips and Colwyn Sam, all of Bagotstown Public Road; Chandra Goolcharran and his family of four, of No. 66 Village, Corentyne; and Alice Bishundat and family of four, of Laluni Creek.
The families received food and clothing, among other household items.
Yesterday’s presentations brought the number of persons who suffered losses, which have been assisted by the Council, to 130 from 41families. Some were victims of high winds.
The Guyana Relief Council wants members of the public and organisations to contribute to sustaining its humanitarian mission by giving of their time or expertise, and by donating cash or kind.
