Guyanese national striker Nigel ‘Powers’ Codrington and left side defender Walter ‘Boyd’ Moore scored on either side of the half to give Neal & Massy Caledonia AIA a 2-1 victory over the previously unbeaten CLICO Jabloteh in the T&T Pro League at the Hasley Crawford Stadium.
Moore was elevated to left midfield to make way for Guyana’s National U-23 player Kester Jacobs who started for Caledonia in the left back position.
Showing clinical accuracy Moore finished off a six pass move after receiving a pass from Vincentian Kendal Velox inside the Jabloteh box. His first time shot beat goalkeeper Cleon John to give Caledonia a 1-0 first half lead. John had denied Moore two minutes earlier pushing his blistering 30 meter drive over the bar.
Codrington sealed the game for Caledonia 15 minutes into the second half running on to a perfect through pass from T&T’s World Cup midfielder Densill Theobald. Codrington now has 7 goals in the Pro League and is the joint top scorer in the Trinidad league with Antiguan striker Peter Byers. Another Jaguar, Collie Hercules has 6 goals in the League.
