De press showing how it powerful and it mekking de news in Guyana. Up comes Labba Lip Kwame and announce that he ban a reporter. Bharrat, before he stay quiet, announce how he support de ban. Well who tell he do that? Dem boys holler ‘Pim pim” and sit back.
De fuss man who press de panic button was de Carifesta Minister. Even before the press plan a strategy, he cancel all press conference. He tell dem boys that he can’t handle a boycott, that he gun shame.
Robert de MBA Minister always inviting de press. Like he phone break down because nobody ain’t get a call from he. He PR man call some reporter and tell dem how he gun give dem free pass fuh see Destra.
But little do he know that Destra ain’t coming no mo’. She and all frighten de boycott.
Clement, de Home Affairs man, decide to test de water. He call a press conference. He had a man from GINA at de gate counting all who come and this man keep he wid de information.
Wha mek dem boys laugh was that dem had a foreigner waiting pun Rohee. De man suh frighten de press that he ignore he guest. He call fuh tell Angela that she should meet wid de press and she agree.
Dem boys seh that Rohee crawl in and peep from behind a door to see what gun happen. He barely hide he self when de press walk out pun poor Angela. This time she prepare snacks. She shame till she cry.
De next day was another session. This time all dem Minister decide that dem gun meet as one in Parliament suh if anything happen dem ain’t gun shame. And in any case, dem seh that dem have togetherness suh dem gun share de shame.
Parliament start and Ashni, de odder short man, anxious to talk because he feel that he gun talk before anything happen. He believe that before de walk out he gun done talk. He wrang. From de time he get up, de press get up too and by de time he start fuh talk de press start fuh walk.
De Big Market paper reporters run out like if jumbie deh behind dem; de Waterfalls Paper reporters run out ready fuh war; Prime News, Capitol News, Sharma, News 2, Blackman TV, and PNC cameraman walk out.
De reporters from de Hard times paper crawl out because dem had to wait to see who watching and when de speaker tun he face dem slip out. Dem boys seh that when Bharrat call dem later and ask dem why dem join the walkout, dem tell he how dem been in de toilet at Parliament and it ain’t wukkin, so dem end up fulling up de court own – dem nah walk out.
Anyhow, Parliament done soon after, because de speakers didn’t want to talk to demself and ain’t get publicity.
But is de Evening News people who mek everybody shame. De two, Mr Paul and Miss Michelle, head straight fuh de snack room. Dem run out wid dem hand full, dem mouth full and dem bag full. Is then dem boys know that dem use to go to Parliament wid paper bag fuh carry way de people food.
But you shoulda hear how Manniram complain. He cuss because he seh that the boss man messing wid he publicity. Today he couldn’t even get a photographer because GINA couldn’t cover everywhere.
De Lunch Man miss he breakfast and then he miss he lunch; he cancel he press conference too.
De happiest man is Sharma. He laugh because he get a partner. He call overseas to announce that Moseley the reporter MOUTH get suspend too.
He call Corbin to organize another protest march because a ban and a suspension is de same thing. Dem boys laugh.
Moseley calling a press conference but dem boys seh that he better tek warning since de reporters in de boycott mood.
