Today July 17, marks 36 years for Pele Football Club, Guyana’s most successful football club.
To celebrate this occasion a special match has been arranged between Pele Masters and Rastafari Patriarchs.
The game is set for Independence Park (Parade Ground) at 16:30 hrs and several of the Club’s past outstanding footballers will be on show.
At stake will be the ‘Catch a Fire’ Challenge Trophy and there will also be a trophy for the Most Valuable Player donated by Raj Singh Insurance Brokers.
Among the Masters who are expected to appear for Pele are; Gary Erskine, Terry Nichols, Herbert Pellew, Clive Perry, Gary Mickle and Michael Pedro and for the Patriarchs former Pele Captain Vibert Butts will spearhead the challenge among the likes of Terry Plummer, Terry Frank, Aubrey Adams, Neville Wiltshire and Allan La Rose.
