The Demerara Mutual Life Insurance Company sponsored Medal Play tournament at the Lusignan golf Course is set to be played off on Saturday with close to 30 golfers expected to battle for top honours.
The tournament was originally planned for last month but was rescheduled due to the inclement weather. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers as well as Nearest to the Pin on Green #8.
Among the golfers expected to be on show are Ian Gouveia, Colin Ming, Imran Khan, Brian Glasford, Ronald Bulkhan, Mike Guyadin, Carlos Adams, Melissa Humphrey, Avinda Kishore, Bolaram Deo, Maurice Solomon, Gavin Todd, Albert Semple and Mel Sankies.
Registration will close on Friday at 16:00 hours and interested players can register by calling the bar at telephone number 220-5660.
Assembly time is 12:20 for Tee off at 12:30 hours on Saturday. Officials of Demerara Mutual are expected to be on hand to assist in the presentation of prizes at the end of the tournament.
Meanwhile, teenager Avinda Kishore with 38 points playing off a 15 handicap won last weekend’s Club tournament. Second position went to Bolaram Deo who played with a 15 handicap but recorded 36 points. Bulkhan scored 34 points for third position playing with a 21 handicap.
