A 26-year-old man has been remanded to prison after he was charged with the attempted murder of his father.
The accused, Ryan Daniels, called ‘Axe Man’, of Matthew’s Ridge made his appearance yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, before Principal Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle.
It is alleged that on Thursday July 10, at Matthew’s Ridge, he wounded Courtney Walcott with intent to murder him. The charge was indictable and Daniels was not required to plead.
According to the police, on the day in question the accused and his father were imbibing alcohol when an argument ensued.
This subsequently led to a fight during which Daniels reportedly stabbed his father. Police Prosecutor Sherwin Matthews told the court that the Virtual Complainant is still hospitalized.
Bail was refused and Daniels is expected to make his next court appearance on August 5. The matter has been transferred to the Matthew’s Ridge Magistrate’s Court.
