Following a successful kidney transplant operation at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) yesterday, major sponsor of the process, New York-based businessman Mr George Subraj, handed over a quantity of items to the hospital.
The items, according to Chief Executive Officer of the Hospital, Michael Khan, will be distributed to various public health facilities, including the Diamond Diagnostic Centre and the Enmore Policlinic.
Among the items are a wheelchair, cardiology machine, an oxygen machine, and other high-tech equipment.
According to the Guyana-born Subraj, his intention is simply to render assistance, since it is his belief that charity must start at home.
