The police are investigating a hit and run accident which occurred at around 21:00hours at Windsor Forest, West Coast Demerara, on Friday night.
This accident resulted in the death of senior citizen Burchill Lyttle,62, of Dartmouth Village, Essequibo Coast, who was said to be of unsound mind.
He was pronounced dead at the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where he was taken shortly after the incident occurred.
The man’s niece, Rodetta Lyttle, told this newspaper that his relatives heard what happened yesterday morning. She said that Lyttle, a father of three, got away from his mother, who takes care of him, on Friday.
Up to press time, the police had no luck tracking the car that had hit Lyttle.
