– Minister Anthony lauds competition
Linden’s Technical Institute (LTI) outgunned arch rivals and defending champions, Kwakwani Secondary to snatch the Pepsi National Schools’ Basketball title at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall last night with a 78–72 points win.
In the preceding game, Christianburg/Wismar Multilateral defeated President’s College 52–44 to claim third place. Minister of Youth, Culture and Sport Dr. Frank Anthony lauded the competitiveness of the tournament.
“This is what sportsmanship is about; you can play competitively but be a good sportsman and this is what we should communicate to our young athletes,” Anthony told the gathering at the closing ceremony.
