Fathers and sons to make up pairs
It will be keen and intense action at the GCC ground Bourda from 09:30hrs today when the Carib sponsored Guyana Cricket Board and Georgetown Cricket Club fund raising Father and Son double wicket 4-overs cricket competition is contested.
Some 20 pairs will be taking on each other but only one pair will come out victors at the end of all the action.
The boundaries will be shortened to accommodate tents around the Bourda Sward as the organizers are aiming to set a picnic like scene for the day.
Admission to the venue is absolutely free and fans can walk with their tents to add to their comfort to ensure they enjoy the day’s action which is sponsored by Carib.
Each pair will pay an entrance fee of $3,000 with prizes inclusive of cash and trophies going to the first three pairs.
Gifts of Cricket bats will be presented to the top 3 sons who must be between the ages of 14 – 16 years in order to be eligible to compete.
There is no limit to the ages of the fathers.
Fans are reminded that the organisers will have Bar-b-Que on sale.
