DEAR EDITOR,
I have seen a letter to the editor in the Stabroek News, penned by owner of RK’s Security, Roshan Khan, calling for Mr. Henry Green to be confirmed as the Commissioner of Police.
It has been a long time for Mr. Green to be acting in this position, and indeed it gives the impression that Government is not sure of his aptitude and commitment to the Police Force and the party.
But there is this niggling question of Mr. Green’s integrity.
Like former Police Commissioner Floyd McDonald, and former Minister of Home Affairs Ronald Gajraj, Henry Green’s US visa has been revoked.
Now, the US must have some plausible reason to do this. The US just doesn’t revoke a visa, especially a diplomatic one, willy-nilly.
By not knowing for certain what exactly is Mr. Green’s status implicates this Government with all the problems this country is having.
Here is a sound reason for Mr. Green to be polygraphed, like those officers of CANU. If he passes the test, I for one will wholeheartedly back his confirmation.
