England-based Under-17 football player Sachi Fleming yesterday fulfilled a promise he made last year while training with the national team who were encamped in Kwakwani.
Fleming, who plays for Hanwelltown Club located in West Surrey, presented a quantity of Space Markers to the junior squad now preparing for the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) U-17 World Cup Qualifiers scheduled for Trinidad and Tobago.
The ceremony was held at the Palace De Leon Hotel where the team is currently encamped.
Fleming speaking with Kaieteur Sport said that he has joined the squad and has already begun to settle in and was feeling very comfortable with the guys.
Asked what sort of influence he believes he can add to the team, he said that he feels he can add some amount of experience to the team since in his opinion he is consistently exposed to a higher level of play which the other players can feed off.
He is accompanied by his mom. The team’s first practice session started yesterday.
