Den Amstel sailed into the quarter-final of the Banks DIH sponsored Guyana Softball League 15-over Cricket competition following results of last Sunday’s matches.

At Den Amstel Ground:
Hyde Park XI defeated Cornelia Ida Invaders XI by 6 wickets: Cornelia Ida Invaders XI batted first and scored 100 all out in 14.2 overs (Khemraj Ramsundar 15 (2×6); Dhaniram Lallram 3-14 from 3 overs) In reply Hyde Park Sports Club knocked off the runs scoring 103-4 from 9.3 overs (Gibran Mohamed 33 (4×6); Ejaz Mohamed 13 (1×6); Haresh Bissoondyal 2-7 from 3 overs; Riaz Misir 1-24 from 3 overs).
At the same venue, Den Amstel Sports Club cruised into the quarter-finals by defeating Fire Crew XI by 3 wickets:
Fire Crew XI were inserted and made 53 al out in 14.1 overs (Hakim Khan 16 (2×6); Ray Black 3-10 from 3 overs; Morris Henry 2-5 from 3 overs) In reply who also struggled eventually getting to 54-7 in 14.4 overs (Graham Miggins 20 not out (2×6); Azad Zaman 2-10 from 3 overs; Premindra Arjune 2-15 from 3 overs).
Boom Blast XI continued their winning ways by defeating Leonora Youths Sports Club by 7 wkts: Leonora Youths Sports Club were inserted and could only muster 53 all out in 12.1 overs (Rakesh Singh 15 (1×6); Hemchand Deonarine 3-3 from 3 overs; Ramotar Ramroop 2-1 from 3 overs) Boom Blast XI replied with 54-3 from 8 overs (Ramotar Ramroop 23(3×6).
At Providence Ground: Pitch # 1:
Players XI defeated Michael XI by 41 runs: Players XI won the toss and batted scoring a challenging 155 in 14.1 overs (Ramesh Thakur 64 (2×6; 9×4); Ray Richard 20 (2×6); Anil Boodhoo 3-11 from 3 overs; Deokarran Kumar 2-11 from 3 overs) Michael XI were bowled out for 114 in 13.4 overs (Anil Boodhoo 14 (1×6); Ramesh Thakur 3-11 from 3 overs).
Michael XI in their second match rebounded to defeat Skyline XI by a wide margin of 60 runs: Michael XI won the toss and batted, rattling up a massive 157-8 in 15 overs (Amit Kumar 30 (4×6); Extras 29) Donald La Channa 4-30 from 3 overs) In reply Skyline XI were bundled out for 97 in 12.2 overs (Vishaul Singh 19 (2×6); Dhanraj Pooran 2-20 from 3 overs).
At Providence Ground: Pitch # 2:
La Grange All Youths XI defeated Rapid Fire XI by 26 runs: La Grange All Youths XI batted first and scored 148-9 from 15 overs (Abid Haniff 37 (4×6); Danny Persaud 27 (2×6); Avinash Singh 3-21 from 3 overs; Nasir Mohamed 3-33 from 3 overs) Rapid Fire XI fell short in their reply being bowled out for 112 in 14.5 overs (Narendra Pooran 17(2×6); Shoaib Mohamed 15(1×6); Sarta Narine 3-13 from 3 overs).
La Grange All Youths gained a walkover from Good Fortuin All Star XI.
At the NIS Ground:
The Regal XI and Untouchables XI match was abandoned after heavy showers left the ground waterlogged with Regal XI being 49-3 from 6.4 overs.
At Everest Ground:
Dare Devils XI defeated Floodlight XI by 15 runs: Dare Devils XI batted first and scored 111 all out in 13 overs (Rajendra Boodhoo 47 (5×6); Terry Sookhoo 19 (2×6); Fidel Singh 3-8 from 3 overs; Ramesh Ramsaroop 3-17 from 3 overs) In reply Floodlight XI could only muster 96-4 from 15 overs (Sheik Mohamed 53 not out (5×6; 3×4); Vijay Mahadeo 2-15 from 3 overs).
Heavy Showers prevented any play between Floodlight XI and Untouchables.
