DEAR EDITOR,
This open letter is to let you know that I am delighted to learn of DDL’s expansion plans and am confident that under your stewardship, it is another success story in the making.
I know that Demerara Bank is soon to launch its Corriverton branch and in many ways, that too, is a winner.
Given the above, I believe it is a fitting moment to reflect on some of your achievements.
You are a self made man; a hard working, successful entrepreneur and a beacon of hope for us all in this country. Few have done as much as you have for your country. You have a reputation and respect that speaks for itself locally, regionally and internationally.
It is not a reputation and respect that was bestowed upon you. You earned it. It was not given to you because you inherited high office.
You earned it and built it up, over the years, brick by brick, solidly.
It is not a reputation and respect that can be taken from you, even if you were to step down as Chairman of the various companies you so successfully run.
And talking about stepping down let me say this. If you do step down, a multitude of companies would be standing by, to snap you up, because of the special kind of leadership and vision you so ably deliver.
Whilst our politics may differ, you and I continue to share the common dream of a united and prosperous Guyana.
With my continued best wishes.
Kads Khan
Former member of the Central Executive
Committee of the PNC
