DEAR EDITOR,
I take this humble opportunity in extending my respect to the family and bereaved of the passing of Guyana’s first President, Mr. Arthur Chung, O.E..
Apart from his political life, which was way before my time — and I only learnt from what others had to share — I have great admiration for this individual, for he made a perfect representation of what ”A True Private Citizen” is.
I vividly remember in the past that we would pass each other on the seawall, along with his personal aid (There might have been a dog also) and it was a pleasure to have the opportunity of seeing in person this individual who portrayed pleasantness and simplicity.
Rest peacefully, Mr. Arthur Chung.
T. Pemberton
