Blue Berry Hill (BBH) defeated 10-man Amelia’s Ward United (AWU) 2-1 to join Milerock at the top of the point’s standings following latest action in the Upper Demerara Football Association / Banks DIH / Ministry of Culture Youth and Sport Division One League which continued on Wednesday evening at the Mackenzie Sports Club ground in Linden.
The other encounter on the night saw Winners Connection upsetting Silver Shattas by the lone goal of their clash which came off the boot of Rene Gibbons in the 26th minute. They now join Amelia’s Ward United and Shattas on 7 points.
AWU took the lead 3 minutes before half time when Horace Hinds hit the network. Following the resumption BBH fired back with 2 unanswered goals, Rolston Fraser in the 55th minute and Malvin Benn in the 73rd.
AWU’s Delver Alleyne was red carded in this half which proved a major set back in their victory bid.
Competition is set to continue this evening at the same venue with another double header. Bakewell Topp XX tangle with AWU and Milerock match skills with Silver Shattas.
Kick off time is 18:00hrs.
