The 5th Annual Albert ‘Fudd’ Murray Memorial Football one day knockout tournament will take place on Sunday at the Scott’s Church play ground beginning at 10:00 hrs, the matches being 70 minutes affair.
The four teams that have been competing in the other memorial tournaments so far this year will again be going against each other in an effort to see who will be crowned champions.
The teams participating are New Amsterdam United (NAU) U-20, Cougars and Arsenal over-30 and Hearts of Oak Masters.
A presentation ceremony will be held immediately after the final. A number of incentives will be up for grabs including trophies and medals for the winner a runner up teams. MVP, most goal scorer, best goalkeeper and most disciplined team.
Fudd Murray was a former Berbice player who represented the county with distinction in the 60s, 70s and 80s. He also played for a number of clubs in his hay day in the Ancient County and in his latter days was also a member of the Hearts of Oak Masters Football Club.
Since his demise his family and the club has been organising this tournament in his memory. The coordinator is former National player Neil ‘Grizzly’ Humphrey.
