After almost one week of being hospitalized having been struck by a United States Embassy vehicle, 22-year-old Shonette Williams succumbed to her injuries.
According to her relatives, the housewife, of Lot 56 Madewini, died some time on Sunday evening at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
One relative said that they went to visit the woman on Monday morning only to hear the grim news. The family said they have since informed the US embassy.
Since the woman’s hospitalization the Embassy has been paying all medical bills. On Tuesday last at around 21:00 hrs while standing on a parapet near the Madewini bridge the woman was struck by the vehicle.
